of the Mcu. There’s 10 years of history that have come before this and everything there’s then there’s so much weight and everything on on stuff like the infinity sense and everything and what I thought and what our writing team really got excited about was all right. How can we say that that stuff is basically just bleep compared to what the Tva does all right How can we say that that stuff is basically just bleep compared to what the Tvea does after more than a decade’s worth of build-up and expanding appeal worldwide. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the single biggest most popular film franchise in history. It is by now an institution it should not be possible to mess up then again the same could have been said about star wars just a few years ago Yet.

Kennedy And Ryan Johnston Found A Way

that’s one way of doing it, but there are of course many other ways to destroy a brand that seems indestructible. Benioff and wise found another one with game of Thrones and if we go far enough back in time replacement showrunner Scott Buck of later Iron Fist and Inhumans fame found yet another for showtime’s Dexter where his change of direction yielded what is widely considered the worst series finale of all time. Few properties have dropped the ball quite as badly as Star Wars game of Thrones and Dexter. The reason I bring them up is that Marvel Studios right now appears to be in the process of repeating all the different ways. Those three nose dived and in loki they are doing them all at the same time.

In This Editorial I Will Very

briefly go through the different ways. That Star Wars Game of Thrones and Dexter bound to kill the proverbial golden Goose and how Right now Culminating with Loki, the MCu seems to be in the process of repeating all of those mistakes, and finally what the future might hold for them all due to audiences at the time insatiable demand for a new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens was a massive commercial hit. Despite this early success. However, the seeds of the franchise’s later implosion were planted right there what more than anything else brought Kathleen Kennedy’s Star Wars Down was bringing identity politics into the equation in the Force Awakens. This manifested itself in Kathleen Kennedy’s self-insert Rey Palpatine, who was inherently perfect at everything so much so that it came at the detriment of both the story and every other character traditionally Marvel’s Mcu couldn’t have been more different all the characters had.

Own Flaws To Overcome And Them

doing so is what made them inspirational? Within the context of a comic book movie extravaganza, The MCu characters came across as real and audiences couldn’t get enough of them because of it in the most recent installments of the MCu though all of that has been undermined in a way that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. The MCu now has an increasing number of proverbial race to choose from ranging from Captain Marvel to Wonder Maximoff and all other story and character considerations must yield in order not to step on their toes. In explaining why Doctor Strange did not turn up in one division as planned, Kevin Feige said it would have taken away from Wonder, which is what we didn’t want to do. We didn’t want the end of the show to be commoditized to go to. The next movie here’s the white guy Let me show you how power works keep in mind that prior to one division the star of one MCu movie would frequently show up in another’s standalone movie and it was never an issue up until now teasing to get to the next movie is also something of an Mcu hallmark.

So The Only Bit Of Any Significance

in that quote is that a white man like Dr Strange can’t explain to a woman how magic works had the gender roles been reversed. It would have been a non–issue, but doctor Strange is a male and a white male at that and so he can’t be seen in any way to have a better handle on things than Wanda least of all in her own series like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo in Star Wars characters like him need to be taken. and held accountable and ideally deconstructed we’ve seen some of that in the Mcu so far, but it was kicked up a notch with Loki in the series very first episode. The only one released as of the making of this video. Loki is literally put on trial and he is forced to reflect on his life and to admit to himself and to the audience, but behind the bravado he is just faking it because in reality he’s a scared little boy, but Loki was forced to make that reflection in a sham trial and in an interrogation room now that that is done what could the writers be planning next for him.

What Im Interested In This Show

is can we get to a point where Loki is doing that self–reflection on his own gaining a better understanding of who he is on his own. I think that’s. Compelling journey to take a blockbuster movie villain on over the course of a six episode Tv series. In other words, Loki has to learn to reflect over himself and his actions, even without anyone being there to force him. Head writer Michael Waldron might think that’s compelling, but i’m not so sure the fans of the Loki we have come to know over the past decade will agree with him on that one, but in addition to holding yesteryear’s fan favorites accountable Marvel learned one more lesson from Star Wars with the last Jedi Kennedy and director Ryan Johnson doubled down to the point of adding another misguided but express goal for the Star Wars franchise, namely to tear down its very foundations and build something new in its place presumably so that a new younger wider and more diverse audience would materialize This goal was even stated on.

Screen At The Past Time Kill

it if you have to it did not work as they had intended incredibly, though the MCu was planning on doing something similar. One of the main selling points of Avengers End game was that it would forever change the very MCu that audiences worldwide had gotten invested in for a decade. The foundations have been coming down ever since and nowhere more so than in Loki case in point. Since the very beginning of the MCu thanos had been built up as the ultimate big bad and the infinity Stones as the ultimate power conduits so where to go from there well in Loki. The answer is given as going outside of time itself and introduce the time variance authority and yes I know the Tva is from the comics and it sucked there too on screen the TvA is the bureaucracy at.

The End Of The Universe And

it would have been more at home in Douglas Adams Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy than it would have in the MCu as we knew it so how did the writers of Loki go about establishing the TvA as a big deal well as it turned out their solution was to belittle and diminish the past decades worth of storytelling that got the audience invested in the first place here’s what Loki head writer Michael Waldron had to say it was really cool to to take the world of the MCu. There’s 10 years of history that have come before this and everything there’s then there’s so much weight and everything on on stuff like the infinity sense and everything and what I thought and what our writing team really got excited about was all right how can we say that that stuff is. Basically just bleep compared to what the TvA does. In other words, their solution to building up the TvA was discarding the entirety of the Infinity Saga as Bleep in part by way of having the infinity stones be so numerous and impotent that TvA staffers use them as paperweights, but in so doing they are also dismissing everything that happened before and everything The avengers fought and sacrificed for as bleep. In short marvel studios would appear to have learned all the wrong lessons from Kathleen Kennedy’s Lucasfilm not a great plan books will be written about how astoundingly badly Star Wars was mismanaged right next to them.

Will Be The Books About How Game

of Thrones was mismanaged and sadly Marvel appears to have taken some notes from there as well. Game of Thrones was one of the biggest hits in Tv history as long as they had. The reasonably straightforward ones of author George R r Martin’s books to adapt show showrunners David Benioff and D. b Weiss knocked it out of the park, and they were hailed as visionary geniuses for it. They were exposed of course when the books got more complex let alone when they ran out of published books to adapt and instead started working from maupin’s treatments and notes what really did game of thrones in though was Benioff and vice decision to rush the series to an end.

Perhaps Motivated To Get Started On

the Star Wars Trilogy they at the time were attached to. At the end of season six, they arbitrarily decided that the series would end. After season eight and both season seven and 8 would be shortened seasons to boot so 13 more episodes in total maybe they thought 13 was a lucky number or something I don’t. know either way in writing these 13 episodes they started at the end and then reverse engineered from there to get to where the characters were left off at the end of season six. The end result of that and this is the main point was that the characters no longer had agency they went from driving the plot to being driven by it merely acting out their pre-programmed roles as a bunch of video game, non-playable characters and that more than anything is what destroyed game of thrones it’s terrifying down there we’re in a bleep nobody thought of that he’s bringing all the dead people back to life and they put the women and children in a bleep with all the dead people.

So Brah Tyrion Is Smart But

I guess not that smart. In the very first episode of Loki the entire Mcu is retconned into being. comprised of such NpCs merely acting out what they’re pre-programmed to do. We learn that there is but one real timeline It is sacred and everything happening in it is pre-ordained and pre-planned that’s of anything worse than game of thrones because there the characters only come across as NpCs, whereas now everyone in the MCu literally are that has some disturbing implications as it means there is no free will following from that Tony Stark never made any sacrifice. He merely acted out what it was pre-ordained that he do so did thanos with a snap and the avengers were destined to Undo.

It Dr Strange Was More Right

than anyone knew. When he said this is the only way and just as he figured out in end game, Hulk was destined to be the one to Undo the snap Likewise Loki‘s only reason to exist was to make. In the first place that was the entire purpose of his life, All his other hopes and dreams were for naught just.
