Many of them his family members were killed in the Holocaust. He had this to say about the situation in Israel.

I don’t have to repeat it but I’m a i’m personally a Holocaust survivor as an infant um I barely survived my my my veterans were killed in Auschwitz and most of my extended family was killed that’s my personal background.
