It Seems Like Every Day That Goes By Something
else comes out about Amazon’s Lord of the rings, the Rings of power that makes Tolkien fans worry about what this series has in store and it looks like after months of backlash months of ratios months of down votes and months of fans voicing their concerns. Finally, the cast and crew have had enough they’re starting to address fans openly and attack them for their criticisms and the most recent version of that comes from time magazine’s recent article where we got a couple awesome photo ops. This totally looks like Lord of the rings doesn’t it oh my God and then you even have this picture here another pose that they put these characters in as as the great Perry Chan put it it does look like a CW show doesn’t it this entire thing looks like a soap. opera with identity politics injected through the entire thing, but more importantly throughout this time article there’s a couple interesting nuggets specifically when the executive producer Lindsey Weber, you know the one who said they thought it was appropriate to adapt modern day tolkien to reflect the modern world around us well now she’s just straight out saying it and calling fans racists predictably the lord of the rings rings of power. Executive producer calls critics racists interestingly enough.
We Saw A Similar Tactic From Morphin Clark,
the character who plays or the actress who plays galadriel. She took to instagram yesterday and said if you have hate for my black Co-stars that get off the internet and shut up of course, what these people define as racism or hate. Everyone else classifies as criticism for this series, but of course they want to gaslight people they want to label. Ists and Phobes to make excuses for Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power when it comes out and is so wholeheartedly rejected. They have that to fall back on We’ve seen this playbook time and time again Lord of the Rings, The Rings of Power.
Executive Producer Lindsey Weber Predictably Decided
to attack Lord of the Rings and Tolkien fans as racist whoever made it abundantly clear the production show would be eschewing Tolkien‘s work when she told Vanity fair. It only felt natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien’s work would reflect what the world actually looks like because what Tolkien wrote wasn’t good enough. We need to change what Tolkien wrote that’s what they’ve been telling us. They have been telling us that from the beginning that’s why there’s been backlash not just for these characters who don’t look the way Tolkien described them but. Also for the changes in characters like Galadriel doing things that she never did in a time period where she never did and of course, compressing 3 000 years worth of stories into one series.
Theres A Lot Of Reasons To Be
upset, but they want to label people racist months after making it extremely clear the show would not be following Tolkien’s work weber is now accusing critics of racism. She told time magazine we’re all up for criticism. We’re not up for racism and why don’t we look at this entire thing in context because in this article let me highlight this and show you how far down it is they they talk a significant amount of time before they get to talking about some of the backlash but is the information vacuum breeds nervousness. Some fans are reasonable or some fans concerns are reasonable like the fact. The show must compress thousands of years so mortal characters.
Some Mortal Human Characters Can Have Full
story arcs alongside the immortal ones like Galadriel others who came to the story by way of the movies treat any deviation like featuring Elves with short heroine Jackson Spouted Floyd Locks as sacrilege a few weeks after comic Con Jackson said Amazon promised to send him scripts and never did we heard Amazon’s excuses for that but then there are the real life trolls who take issue with the fact that Cordova, a black Puerto Rican man is plain enough that young Galadriel doesn’t appear feminine because she wears armor. Payne has a tolkien quote at the ready about trolls creatures of dull and lumpish nature that had no more language than beasts. Lindsay Weber is more direct we’re all up for criticism we’re not up for racism. The attacks are starting. Guys it has not worked They have tried to bribe people with access They’ve tried to give people all this special stuff bring people out there.
These Influencers It Didnt Work.
It didn’t stop the backlash so now with only a few weeks left till this actually airs now they’re going all out you already saw the lead actress say this now you’re saying an executive producer say the same thing calling fans racist if they have problems with the changes they’re making to tolkien’s work that’s what it is obviously people. Don’t have a problem with black actors obviously people have a problem with female characters, but when you’re doing something and destroying another person’s mythology and lore and legacy in the process that’s the problem and the entire reason they’re doing that is just like Lindsey Weber said they want to reflect what the world actually looks like. They don’t want to reflect the world that Tolkien actually wrote about and the rest of this is filled with things like Galadriel, saying I never thought that there was enough women and now I’m just proud to be a part of it. You saw Ishmael Cruz Cordova, the person who is playing like they talked about the black Puerto Rican elf his he said I was told I could never be an elf.
When I Was Young Now Im Showing Them.
It’s just another garbage puff piece by time magazine, but it is once again pushing the envelope pushing back against fans and attacking fans as racists. If they have problems with this series. It’s not gonna go well for you amazon it never has when people take this route and now you’ve shown your hand. We’ve said all along it would be a disaster and now they’ve come.
