So Weve Talked Before About How Were Not Fans

of canceled culture on the show with the Dave Chappelle special and also I think Louis Louie UK is back right. I don’t know if he’s fully back, but he’s been trying to like he’s been doing local clubs for quite a while Yeah I mean I feel like more and more people are starting to realize that the idea that something you said or did five ten years ago being able to destroy your life essentially forever. Yeah is no way to live as a society or I mean heck even if it was something that you’ve you’ve said or done now and you know you applause right. I mean of course you can do things that are atrocious like killing somebody none of these people did that but you know what I was even thinking about that progressives love. To argue in favor of criminal justice reform, something that I actually do support.

I Do Feel Like Some Of

these people are more willing to forgive people for doing something like committing an armed robbery or something. Then they are someone making a sexist or racist joke in the past right because no it’s a good morning Oh they didn’t do anything legal if they were actual ex-cons. Though I feel like they may actually they might actually be more forgiving than if they go against progress narrative, which is messed up to think yeah, but it’s truly viewed for the lens of power right yeah and I want to be clear. In both cases. I do think people can change.

I Do Think People Can Grow

and should be given that opportunity. You know not letting people move on because they mess up one time or they’re at. perceived as messing up what time that’s a toxic way to live? There have been a couple of things that I’ve seen like on social media circulating pushing back against the idea that Canceled culture is bad and I’ve always found that really interesting like why wouldn’t you defend this awful dehumanizing practice one of those things that’s that’s defending canceled culture is the following video We’re gonna be looking at from The Young Turks for context. In this video they were discussing the recent incident where Shane Gillis, who’s a comedian was let go from his position atNK]. Shortly after being hired because of some things he said on a podcast that I didn’t find were especially funny, but I did believe were clearly jokes.

I Didnt Believe He Actually Like

was racist again against Chinese people or anything like that but we have this clip from The. The Young Turks Renee Graham broke I’m old enough call when cancel culture was better known as consequences saying Cancel culture generally means boycotting or ghosting someone who has said or done something racist, sexist, anti-UK or otherwise deeply objectionable. This is what Bill Burr said did they go back and try and look back at good things the person might have done or are they just looking for the bad stuff for the record of course. She points out. Gilles made his most recent racist comments way back in 2018 and he said them on a podcast so they weren’t hard to find you didn’t have to do much digging is canceled culture merely just giving people consequences for bad behavior.

I Mean Merely No Obviously Yes Into Some

degree it is but it’s not just that it’s a serious. It’s a systemic thing yeah and I think. Like there’s nothing wrong with consequences Obviously I’m in favor of consequences, But if you ask me what Catholic culture is, is it’s almost like what cults do to control your behavior they’ll take things that maybe shouldn’t even be punishable like hanging out with the wrong person which people have been canceled for and if you don’t do what they want they’ll shun you right they’ll disconnect I think is what the Scientologists call it like they’ll cancel you that’s right that’s a very good that’s a very good way of looking at it Yeah like they did to run Miscavige and his son. For example, exactly you’re you’re cut out of their lives and so that’s what people are trying to do now you’re gonna you’re cut out of the entertainment industry.

Youre Cut Out Of Whatever And You

know if you look at it through that. Lens they’re not necessarily consequences for a bad behavior. It’s manipulation so you Don’t go against the narrative they’re trying to like control you not just doing wrong or right, but it’s doing things that offend them personally, which is a very different thing and I think that it what points to that as well is that I think a lot of celebrities quietly disagree with them right well. You hear that a lot where a lot of celebrities just think that some of these notions that they’re pushing on them are ridiculous, but they’re afraid to speak up they just don’t say no.

It Is Very Cold Welcome And

I mean there’s. There have been people that have said yeah if you see a celebrity who doesn’t talk about politics odds are they’re actually conservative, so they just don’t want to talk about it, which is sad because again. I don’t think you should necessarily have to talk about politics because not everything is about politics but to feel like you can’t even honestly express your opinions without fear of never working again in your industry that’s that’s too far yes sound very American to me no exactly.
