Underwater Was Directed By William Hugh Bank And
stars Kristen Stewart, Vincent Cassell, Jessica Hen Wick John, Gallagher, Jr. andNK] Miller and follows a crew of aquatic researchers dealing with the fact that their station is starting to implode. At first they think it might have been an earthquake, but soon enough. They realized that something more sinister is at play out in the water. I went into this movie cautiously optomistic.
There Are Certain Genres And There Are
certain stories and situations that I’m always going to have a soft spot. For any time an isolated crew of some kind of vessel encounters some sort of entity automatically that has something going for me. A plot like that is always going to get me in the theater. Even if it might be derivative of other things. The same time we’ve seen something like that really not work recently.
Recently, The Cloverfield Paradox Had A Similar Tone
and feel and was also about a crew of isolated people encountering some sort of weird phenomenon and that movie was just really messy so it can go both ways. In the case of underwater. It’s January. Hollywood likes to dump their trash here, but Hollywood also likes to throw movies in January when they don’t know what to do with them in the case of 20th Century Fox. Disney recently bought 20th Century Fox and this is a Fox film.
This Movie Was Apparently Shot In 2017
and is just now coming out in 2020. And I get the feeling that Disney doesn’t give a blumin blumin about this movie and they’re just kind of pooping. It out into theaters for all of us because this movie is way better than most January movies. In fact I. fact I really enjoyed this movie I was very surprised now.
- weird phenomenon movie just really
- film sci fi case expects
- underwater catch weekend matinee theater
- underwater january hollywood likes dump
- movies characters encounter abandoned boat
This Is By No Means A
masterpiece and there’s many issues I have with it, but when you walk into a movie. The second week of January and it’s a horror film or a sci-fi and mostly in this case no less you expects yeah I don’t really know you expect The Grudge 2020, which I just sat through somehow but as stated. This movie is directed by William Ewbank, who last made the signal and he definitely has a vision just from the opening shot of the movie descending deep and deep and deep down into the caverns of the bottommost depths of the ocean. I was sort of on board. But then when he pans across this empty hallway.
I Was Getting Ridley Scott Vibes For
a minute, but then the scene continues and we focus on. Stewart and I was like wait a second Is this actually gonna be like not terrible and then 20 minutes in the movie I was having a blast with it and then 40 minutes into the movie I was still having a blast with it and I’m like okay so I guess this is actually a good movie what the blumin this is weird and I like it give me more of this experience please future January’s Kristen. Stewart is great. I think she’s a fantastic actress. She gets a lot of undue blumin for Twilight, which is honestly really stupid.
Shes An Actress Contracted To Work In Films
and obviously it’s worked out for her in the long run because being in that gigantic franchise gave her the freedom to make tons of really good indie films and basically work freely to do whatever she. Whatever she wanted she has to be in a heightened state of panic for most of this movie, and she pulls it off, as does the entire cast. Vincent Cassell is very good, so is Jessica Henrik pretty much right from the beginning. The movie begins with this fast-paced sequence of events as this station begins to implode. You don’t know what’s causing it or how it’s happening, but all of the characters are scrambling to get to safety.
Theres Very Little Room For Characterization.
This is very much so a plot driven movie not character driven. In fact it’s more plot driven than then I would really appreciate because even in movies that are mostly plot based. They still try to give characters little ounces of things here and there and they don’t that much in this movie there are moments where characters have some downtime to talk while. trying to do something that the plot is you know really propelling them to do and they have a moment to talk about their lives and what’s on their mind.
- underwater
- film
- movie
- ocean

But For The Most Part.
This is a situational thriller. We have characters that are thrown into something horrible and they have to figure out how to solve a problem. Then another problem comes along that they have to solve and then another one. I wish there was a lot more characterization to be done because I feel like if these characters were stronger.
I Would Be Recommending This Movie A
lot more than I am like I think it’s a fun enough thriller and it’s like a solid. You know watchable sci-fi thriller. It could have been a lot better if they had given more attention to these characters and it can’t be escaped that this movie feels like. lot of other films there’s tons of movies where characters encounter an abandoned boat or people in space have a creature obviously aliens a big one, the Abyss virus, for instance, which is a really shitty movie with a good setup virus has a great setup and I’ve always hated how it just plummets into such blumin once you find out what’s going on but this movie feels like it nails to set up and it is perfectly fine at delivering thrill after thrill for the rest of the movie. Despite the lack of characterization and familiarity with other plots.
This Is A Lot Better Than
most January movies and I feel like Disney was just like blumin This movie we’re just gonna throw it in January which if that’s the case, it actually kind of pisses me off because, although it is very similar to. Similar to other films, This is not a superhero movie. It’s not like a comic book movie. It’s not a sequel or based off of some other material.
Sure Characters In The Movie Referenced The
obvious inspirations like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but at its core it’s not a franchise movie and I just feel like Disney was like whatever and they just dumped it pisses me off. I feel like. This movie has the potential to gain a following at some point. Although it is by no means a classic please do not twist my words.
This Is A Fairly Cliche Routine Thriller, But
it does everything that it’s supposed to do very well surprisingly, and I think it’s a lot better than most people gave it credit for I’m gonna give underwater a B if you can catch it on a weekend matinee or if your theater. Still does like a $5 day that might be cool or if it’s on Netflix or prime one day definitely check it out it’s way better than most movies that are coming out right now. Trust me Tomorrow I’m gonna go see like a boss and I’m doing my best to not do that thing where you judge a book by its cover so guys thank you so much as always for watching look forward to more reviews very soon and if you like this you can click right here and get stuck mine eyes.
